Fire Island National Seashore to Host Webinars on Off-Road Vehicle Driving Program

The Fire Island National Seashore will host two webinars on the off-road vehicle driving program project, taking place on Sept. 2 at 6:30 p.m. and again on Sept. 16 at 1 p.m. The webinars will feature both a presentation on the ongoing project, as well as give the public an opportunity to participate in a question and answer period.

If community members wish to do so, they can learn how to create formal written comments through the Planning, Environment and Public Comment (PEPC) website.

The Fire Island National Seashore provides special-use driving permits to Fire Island residents, but the driving regulations haven’t been updated since 1987. In a press release, FINS said many aspects of technology, development and access have changed since the organization was formed in 1964, so some updates are in the process of being made.
