Wine Bar Called Fire Island Vines Coming to Bay Shore’s Main Street

Posted on January 30, 2020 by admin in Fire Island News

The newest addition to Bay Shore’s main street will be a wine bar called Fire Island Vines, located at the new 1 East Main Street building.

Owner Angelo Crisci is no stranger to the wine industry, having founded his own wine label called Fire Island Wines in 2014. A year earlier, he founded a wine touring business called First Glass Wine Tours. He told GreaterBayShore about the opening of Fire Island Vines, “It’s all about creating the best experience. That is what we are focused on.”

Crisci quickly became familiarized with the most popular varieties of wine thanks to his touring business on the North and South forks of Long Island. “I felt we can offer a similar experience closer to home,” he explained of his new wine bar.

Fire Island Vines won’t just serve wine; there will also be beer and cider on tap. He continued, “We’re going to have the opportunity for people to try different products from all over Long Island and around New York state.”

Crisci calls the atmosphere at Fire Island Vines family-friendly, which will be made possible by working alongside his wife Tessie and daughters Paulina and Angelia. “My wife and daughter are both school teachers and they had great ideas on how to make it more kid-friendly,” he said.

Greek food will be a mainstay on the menu, inspired by his wife Tessie’s Greek roots. “There will be a Greek-theme to the menu; things such as gyros, Greek salads, Greek fries,” explained Angelo.
Fire Island Vines will open later this year.
